Joint¶
A joint is the spherical break that lets adjacent shaft segments change angle without moving the endpoints.
What it is¶
- A sphere inserted into a support chain.
- Used when a support needs an angle change or an editable break point.
Geometry¶
- The joint body is always spherical.
- Its diameter is slightly larger than the connected shaft diameter.
Behavior¶
- Moving a joint changes the angle of the shaft segments above and below it.
- The endpoints of the support stay anchored in place.
- Joints are pickable for editing.
Constraints¶
- Shaft diameter must remain matched on both sides of the joint.
- Joints are ordered bottom to top along the support.
